Hi, my name is Landin. At the time I conducted this science project I was 13 years old. It was a good choice of topics for me personally because, I love airplanes and want to fly them one day.
I presented my project to judges at the regional Mid-Columbia Science Fair on March 13, 2003. I got an Award of Distinction for my experiment design. I also received a first place with a $130 check, and was invited to a science summer camp.
I also took my project to the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair on April 4, 2003. I received a second place.
My Family
There are four people in my family, me, my sister, my mom and dad. We have no pets, and we have a one story house. My sister's name is Amanda, my mom's name is Cindy, and my dad's name is Dan. My mom has one brother and four sisters. She was born in Montana, she is 5 foot 1 inches tall, has blondish brown hair and brown eyes. She went to Toppenish High School, and Ricks College. Her favorite subject in school was art, and now is working as a seed analyst . She was married on February 15th in Seattle, Washington. Her favorite outdoor activities are swimming, and dancing.
My father was born in Denver, Colorado, and has one younger sister, and 3 brothers. He is very funny, very organized, and kind. He went to Eisenhower High School, and Ricks College, and his favorite subject in school was business. He is a business administrator; his favorite activity is coaching youth sports. His favorite food is prime rib, and his hobbies are swimming, and officiating basketball.
Amanda was born on August 27th, and she is 15. She is older and is the first child in our family. She has dark hair and glasses and is 5 foot 4 inches tall. She is smart, funny and sometimes annoying! She has lived in Selah and Yakima and now attends the junior high. Her favorite subject in school is science, and her favorite outdoor activity is horseback riding. Her favorite food is plumbs and her favorite TV show is MTV.
My Hobbies and Interests
My hobbies are playing sports like football, basketball, baseball, swimming, and hanging out with my friends. My favorite sport is football. I am the catcher on my baseball team, I'm a pretty good hitter, but real good at catcher. In football, I play running back and defensive corner. My favorite baseball team is the Seattle Mariners, my favorite basketball team is the Lakers, and my favorite football team is the Denver Broncos. Me and my friends get together a lot, we either play catch or play basketball. Sometimes we go to movies, and to the college basketball games.
My Plans for the Future
My plans for the future are to graduate from BYU and to get a degree
in scientific engineering. After I get out of college I want to keep playing
sports and fly or build airplanes, like in the air force or something like
that. Or I want to paint and draw.
