My Dedication
I would like to dedicate this project to Mrs. Heitman for helping me out and reading it till it’s perfect.

Why I Chose This Topic
I chose this topic because when we were looking for things to be our topic, I wanted mine to be something that I like, and something that I don’t know about.  I really like cars, so I chose super cars. Then I thought it over, and I realized that would be too broad a topic so I chose Ferraris.

Research Summary

Introduction
Strap on your seatbelt because we are going on a high-speed pursuit through Italy.  This was the birthplace of Ferrari’s creator, Enzo Ferrari. The Ferrari Company has since created lots of different types of cars.  From Ferrari FXX to Ferrari Enzo, Ferraris have so much more than just speed.

The History of Ferrari
As luck would have it, Alfa Romeo offered Enzo a job as a test driver.  Later, he promoted him to manager.  After Alfa Romeo quit the business, Enzo made his own company.  He made his company in Maranello, Italy.  The first car he made was the Ferrari 815 and it was made in 1940.   His small company is now one of the most popular names in history, “Ferrari”

Enzo Ferrari
Enzo Ferrari was born on February 18, 1898 in Modena, Italy.  During World War 1 Enzo was shoeing mules and worldwide flu of 1918 brought upon his discharge and almost killed him.  Later in life, Enzo got a job at CMN. It was a very small company.  Enzo’s employment there was test-driving cars.  Enzo died on August 14, 1988.

Ferrari F40
After 40 years of business, Ferrari celebrated by completing the Ferrari F40.  It is special because they built it using lighter materials.  The F40 was one of Enzo’s last and best Ferraris.  Also in the 1990’s this car was the fastest of its time.  The F40 is rapidly speedy because it goes 201 mph.

Ferrari FXX
The Ferrari FXX is based on the Ferrari Enzo and a Formula One.
They are such cool cars because they even have custom made tires especially for the FXX (They don’t fit on any other car).  I don’t think very many people can buy the FXX because they cost around $2,000,000 and there are only about 29 of them in the whole world.  Another interesting thing about the FXX is that it tells you how to drive better.  The FXX is also locked on low gears so you can’t drive too fast.

Ferrari Enzo
This car might be the quickest thing to drive out of Maranello.  This car was first made in 2005-06.  It has 600 horsepower and is 2,200 pounds.  It also goes 0-62 in 3.65 seconds. That’s fast!  Another thing is that it can go 225 mph so it’s going to cost a lot of money!

Ferrari 599 GTB Foriano
On March 1st 2006 the Foriano was unleashed!  The thing is so swift, it has 612 horsepower. The cool part is that it even has adjustable breaks. About 85% of the weight is between the wheels.  This car has the most horsepower out of all the Ferraris.

Ferrari California
The Ferrari California nickname is the baby Ferrari.  I think a really interesting thing about it is that it is a folding hardtop convertible. That means that when you fold up the hood, it looks the same as a normal car that is not a convertible.  The California is also related to the Maserati Gran Turismo and the Alfa Romeo 8C.  It can seat more than two people.

Ferrari P4/5 Pininfarina
James Glickenhaus made the design for the Pininfarina.  They started to make it in late 2005.  When James made the drawing it looked like it was made in the 1960’s.  So then he and others made the real drawing for it.  The Pininfarina is really like the Enzo but has a different body.  The fascinating thing is that they made over 200 parts to make the Pininfarina.

Conclusion
Let’s slam on the breaks because this report is almost over.  Ferrari is one of the most popular car names in history.  Since Enzo Ferrari’s death on August 14, 1988, the company has continued to make the world’s fastest cars.  In the future I think that Ferrari’s will go so fast they will fly!!!!

How I Evaluate My Entire Project
 (1) How thorough and complete was my project?
I think some parts were very thorough and complete and others were okay.

(2) What would I do differently if starting over again?
If I were starting over again I would have used lots of time working on my posters  and less time talking to other people.

(3) What major strengths does my project have?
I think one of my strengths was lots of details and explaining my topic.  Like I really explain it if I am very interested in that car or topic.

(4) What weaknesses or problems does my project have?
Some of my weaknesses are the shorter paragraphs or putting it together because mine usually don’t have very much information.

(5) What did I learn to do better during this project?
I learned how to research a lot better and getting more information better.  That is because before I was not good at finding the best information in a site.

(6) In what ways did I enjoy my study and work?
I enjoy it because after all the hard work I finally get to just sit back and let kids read it.  Because I did all that work and now I just need to explain it to them.

Who Helped Me With My Project
I would like to thank Dakota Fletcher and Mrs.Heitman.  I would also like to thank Roberto Perrina for letting me interview him.

Who I Interviewed And What I Learned
I interviewed Roberto Perrina on January 29, 2009 by emailing him.  He works at a Ferrari dealership in Seattle, Washington and loves Ferraris.  He said what made him interested in Ferraris is his passion for cars.  What I enjoyed the most about the interview was that he said he went to UW and that his dad owns the whole dealership.  He said that one of the cars Ferrari might have in the future is the Ferrari California GT.  I learned that a major problem facing Ferrari is the economy, with people making less money, it will be hard to sell these expensive cars.
The Products I Created
The product I created was a pamphlet.  A pamphlet is a paper that has information Ferraris and questions that say true or false.  It also has a word search about Ferraris.
