Forensic Science

Dedication
I would like to dedicate my project to all the forensic scientists, because they have helped investigate crimes and murderers. They have also been so kind to every one involved with crimes. I would also like to dedicate this to the police officers because they have been kind enough to help with minor and major things. So thank you for everything.

Why I Chose This Topic
There are several reasons I decided to take this opportunity to study all about forensic science.  First, I wanted to do this so I could tell my sister everything about forensic science because that is her dream job. Second, I watch the television show C.S.I. (Crime Scene Investigation). Third, I think it is great that people take the time to do this for the community and the state. It really keeps people safe in their homes.

Research Summary
Introduction
Forensic science is something that has been used since the 1800’s in the murders by Jack the Ripper. Their are many important cases that forensic scientists helped solve. Basically the typical forensic scientist has the job of a detective, with a scientist, and of course the basics of a forensic science.

Jack the Ripper
Jack the Ripper was a famous killer of the 1800’s. He was said to have killed at least five women. Their names were, Mary Ann [Polly] Nicholas, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane [Mary Jeanette]. These women were murdered between August 31, 1888 and November 9, 1888.
“Ripper sent a few letters during the year of 1888. On September 25, Jack the Ripper might have written a letter. The central news agency received the letter on the 27th. It was the first letter signed, Jack the Ripper.” There was another letter in October. That letter was also from the Ripper. The letter was posted the day after “Jack the Ripper” killed two women. Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes were the two women killed on the “double event”. Researchers say there might have been one other letter. “The writer sent a small parcel to George Lusk. He was the head of the vigilance committee in Whitechapel. Inside the parcel were half a kidney and a letter from someone claiming to be the killer; the kidney was part of his victim Catherine Eddowes. Catherine Eddowes suffered from the Bright’s disease and the description of the kidney does match what a Bright’s disease kidney would look like.”
Nobody knows really how many women the Ripper really killed, but most people think he killed five. Some people think he killed from five to seven women. All in all the Ripper was famous in his time. A woman’s body has been slashed into pieces and the floor was covered with blood. The dead woman’s clothing had been burned to ashes in the fire place.” That illustrates one of the ripper’s cases.
All of this information was found by very generous forensic scientists. But who they are is still unknown.
The forensic scientists are still unidentified. Whoever they were they were generous enough to share this information.

The O.J. Simpson Case
When Nicole Brown Simpson came home with her friend Ron Goldman, she and her friend were said to be murdered by her ex-husband O.J. Simpson. After this was done they asked neighbors if they saw what happened. If not they ask for people who did see it and ask what happened. In crimes where victims might have an idea of who the murderer is.
O.J. Simpson also had a case that wasn’t naturally proved, but researchers think O.J. footprints were found on the ground in front of Ms. Brown-Simpson’s own home. Although that was never proven that O.J. did murder those two. many forensic scientists and researchers believe he did. The trial went on for a while. The judge proved O.J. Simpson non-guilty. With that case you can tell forensic scientists aren’t always right.

The Job
“Studying the messy details of crime, forensic scientists help identify criminals and analyze evidence against them.” Forensic scientists do their job to help and protect their community. They go on the job when they’re needed. Their job can be easy or hard depending if they are going on the scene of the crime or if they’re going in a week or two after the crime happened.
When you become a forensic scientist you have to go to college for 6-8 years. That is almost as much as medical school. Most forensic scientists take many classes, such as chemistry, science, and math. The pay that a forensic scientist makes is not known. The pay depends on where you work and what your job is as a forensic scientist.
Explain all of the steps of a typical day. After they pick up a body they must do a full autopsy scan. This is done to find evidence of who the killer was.

Cyber Crime
One other thing forensic scientists learn to do is hack into computers. They are trained to do this to solve the mysteries of cyber crime. First, they find out who is using cyber crime. Then, they hack into computers and find the computer used in this abuse. Next, they use a global positioning system (G.P.S.) to find the place where this is being done. Last, they get the person and take them to court and usually to jail.

Conclusion
Forensic science is a really great career. Forensic science is a job that helps solve mysteries and crimes. With you we can make a better town. Please consider being a forensic scientist.

How I Evaluate My Entire Project
 (1) How thorough and complete was my project?

My project used clear and concise notations.
I think it is very thorough. It uses connecting words for understanding the order. Also my project uses correct punctuation and spelling.

(2) What would I do differently if starting over again?

I think I would choose an easier topic.
If I still chose this topic I would get more informational facts. I would try to be more explanatory in the introduction and conclusion.

(3) What major strengths does my project have?

My project has a big strength in jack the ripper.
Also in O.J. Simpson. These parts have many informational topics like crime scenes.

(4) What weaknesses or problems does my project have?

My project is just fine in everything. Every sentence and paragraph is complete.

(5) What did I learn to do better during this project?

I learned to use more info.
I learned to choose my words carefully. Like using other words than like.

(6) In what ways did I enjoy my study and work?

I enjoyed what I learned.
Also what I gained in responsibility.

Who Helped Me With My Project
I would like to thank the following people:
My mom
My dad
All my family
All the forensic scientists
All the police officers/ Mr. Cordova

Who I Interviewed and What I Learned
Well, I didn’t interview a specific person. I talked to some people at the Yakima, WA police station and they told me some things they did that were similar to what a forensic scientist would do. They said sometimes when a forensic scientist isn’t around they send out a detective instead. Not only do the forensic scientists go out on a call but also, the police officers do to. The officers that do that aren’t just ordinary police officers they are hired this job because usually this is what they majored in in college.

The Products I Created
I created a “Clue” style Board Game. This board is restyled to a modern day game. This board game shows some real killers from back in there time.
This board game actually shows some of the messy details of crime. This game is intruding and fun that many people love but, it is remolded into a modern day game. It has the same rules as every clue game.
