Who I Interviewed And What I Learned

I interviewed Monica Elizabeth Bugno on December 18, 2004 at the Menzies Hotel in Sydney, Australia.

She is a student and a receptionist. She has been living in Australia for 20 years. Monica said, ”The beaches and landscape are what interest me most.” She also said that she enjoys living in Australia because it’s big, doesn’t have many people, but they are very nice, and because the weather is nice.

“Captain Cook came to Australia in 1788,” says Monica. “Australia became a federation in 1901, and there was a problem with the Aborigines when white people came to Australia.”

Bushrangers, Captain Cook, and Ned Celly were important in the past of Australia. Things that changed in recent years are Aboriginal reconciliations, White people policy, and colored not allowed in Australia. Some problems in Australia would be terrorism and shark attacks.  Monica said that she thinks that they will get a female minister and they may not be under the queen anymore.

There are a lot of animals in Australia; there are Koalas, snakes, spiders, kangaroos, emus, wombats, platypus, and galahs. They also have this animal called the drop bear, it’s fake. The people trick visitors with them. Monica’s favorite animal is the platypus. I had a lot of fun interviewing her.
