Research Summary
Basic Definition
The Ancient Egyptian civilization ended about 2000 years ago.
It was here for over 4500 years. Even though Ancient Egyptians were ancient
people they were the smartest and most resourceful for their time. They
were very strong in their day. They had very powerful armies that pulled
through just in time.
Archeology
Archeology is the study of ancient artifacts. You must learn
languages so you can talk to other people while traveling to ancient sites.
It takes years of study to become an Archeologist. During that time social
studies will be most helpful. You sometimes work 10 hours 7 days a week
but your earnings are $45,000-$65,000 . For the future of archeology
I presume there will be better preservatives and equipment.
Land
The land of Ancient Egypt by the way it is described sounds like a
big beach without the water. There were sand dunes and a sandstorm every
once in a while. The Nile is there, it provided much of their water.
Religious Beliefs
In Egypt they had many beliefs and many gods. Some of the most powerful
and popular gods were. Ra, Amon, Amon-Ra, Seth (set), and Osiris. Pharaohs
were also considered gods. Did you know that Ramsees lied about winning
a war. An army bailed him out when he said he crushed the enemies with
his bare hands. If he had been caught they would have hung him.
Architecture
Architecture is the art of building. Without architecture the pyramids
would not have been made. Neither would tombs or houses. The common person
was very important because without them there would be no tombs or pyramids.
On my opinion the greatest creation would probably be the great sphinx
it was a lion with a pharaoh head. It was an amazing creation.
Ancient Roman period
In the late years of Egypt the Romans took over as rulers. The Romans
acted like nothing happened, like they were Egyptians too. They even dressed
like Egyptians. Soon the Romans learned the Egyptian language and became
Pharaohs.
Agriculture
Agriculture is the art of cultivating the soil. Usually the rich
people got their yards farmed by workers. To farm they use sickles to cut
vines and weeds for grapes and vegetables. They grew grapes to make wine
for the owners of the yard. Back then everyone drank wine. Beer and wine
were the main drinks in Egypt and Rome.
Mummifying
Mummies were very popular. You might have heard of them. If you’re
like most Egypt fans you probably picture a mummy wrapped in rags in a
museum or Egyptian pyramid. But truly they are all over the world. Some
were buried with great care but others were mummified because of natural
conditions where they died. Mummies are made naturally or by Embalming,
Which is any process used to preserve a dead body.
Egyptian Warfare
Egyptian warfare was amazing. One of the greatest and most dishonest
wars was led by Ramsees the II. The reason was because Ramsees
lied. He was about to lose until another army bailed
him out. He said he had crushed the enemy with his bare
hands. The archers were trained with bows, The Calvary with swords and
spears. Also there were the ambushers. They are trained with everything
and kill the rest of the army by surprise.

Who I Interviewed And What I Learned
I interviewed Montgomery Walker on Jan. 15th 2003. His job is
a history and geography professor at YVCC. Monty told us he has been involved
with this for 10-15 years professionally. He told us he is now instructing
classes. Monty then told us he was interested in Egypt all his life. He
thought it was interesting how people used to live. He told us becoming
an archeologist takes a master degree which takes 6 years of college .He
enjoys major discoveries because of how little we know. The most important
people were probably the common person because without them the pyramids
wouldn’t have been built. Did you know the pharaohs were considered gods?
I then asked him if there were any great wars of Egypt? He told me yes
Ramsees had a untruthful war he lied about and got helped out but out of
all the people that he said he crushed them all with his bare hands. These
are just some of the questions, he answered in a lot of detail. The interview
was great. We made a few adjustments but otherwise it was excellent.
