In 1915 Boeing asked Westervelt to start designing a new aircraft. It was named the B&W Floatplane. It was made by George Conrad Westervelt and William Boeing. Its first flight was on June 15, 1916. Since then Boeing has become the largest producer of commercial and private aircrafts. Today Boeing makes many different types of planes that are popular with airlines and other customers.
