What do carpenters do? Carpenters build homes for many people. They have to first, find a house plan that they enjoy. Second, they have to buy land that fits the needs of the house. Next, they have to lay down the foundation of the house. Then, they can finally start building the new home. It takes a long time to build even one house. Then, when they finish, someone called an inspector comes to check and make sure that the house is safe to live in. Finally, they can sell the house and a long, hard cleaning begins. Then, the newly built house is sold.

What is their work schedule? The work schedule for carpenters is really just up to them. Some work at night and some work at day. Some once a week. Some seven days a week. So, it’s really up to them or their employer.

Where do carpenters live? Carpenters live and work worldwide, wherever houses are needed. So they work and live everywhere. It is hard to find one little place with no carpenters.

What job categories are there? There are many kinds of carpentry. There is stick building, sight building, and wood construction. These are the buildings of houses or homes. There is also commercial building. This type of building is for companies or businesses.

What tools and materials do carpenters need to build a house? The tools and materials are, hammers, saws, nails, nail guns, staple guns, cement, wood, diggers, super glue, putty, paint, doors, windows, and a lot more things.

What are the good aspects of this job? Because of this job, we have bridges, homes, boats, building, and lots of other things. Everything that has a need to be built is built by people who work jobs related to this one. Without this job, we would not have any of these needed structures. Those jobs are the same thing as carpentry.

What are the bad aspects of this job? One bad aspect of this job is that many people get hurt; this job is not just for any one. You have to pay most of the money you get for building each and every house, and still end up with enough to stay in business.

What kind of training is needed for this job? You usually get "on the job training". You have to get trained, but do not have to go to college, it’s really up to you. Carpenters have to learn math as the number one thing in their job.

Is a college degree needed to get the job? College is not needed. This job is only for people who are good at math and learn quickly. All you have to do is get well trained.

If a college degree is not needed, then what training is needed? The United Brotherhood of Construction, Joiners of America, and the National Union for the Industry offer certification courses. These show the ins and outs of construction.

What is expected out of construction workers? Carpenters need to be good at math and learn fast. They also have to be good with electronics and be pretty smart. They have to learn what the names of specific nails and pieces of wood are called, and what certain symbols on house plans mean. Math is most important. Why? Because measurements and calculations are needed daily.

Construction workers make $20,780-$40,039 per year in the US.

What is the outlook for carpentry? The outlook for this job is that there will be more jobs and better workers.

How many jobs are there? Thousands and thousands of jobs are started each year. So there isn’t a true count at all.

When did carpentry start? Carpentry started with the cavemen when they built their homes out of rock. New and better ideas slowly were made. These ideas slowly advanced. Stronger homes were built. The construction career advanced. Until our day.

What are the jobs related to carpentry? Construction is related to many, many jobs. Bridges, roads, boats, computers, and basically any thing that has to be built are made by a job related to this one.

How do you get this job? First you have to find some building company with an opening that fits your needs. See if this company will accept someone like you. Then choose from on the job training or the company’s training. You’ll be building in no time.

Is there any more information? Yes. Construction workers just end up being good at art. The houses they build come through their art ability, their imagination. And there are a lot of beautiful buildings out there.      What is the average amount of money that construction workers are making in the US? Carpentry comes in two categories. The rough work, hard part, and the soft work, the easier part. Architects design the house plans carpenters build.

Who I Interviewed And What I Learned
I interviewed Lowell Dallman and Jim Ficall. I learned that the energy codes have changed the most and the biggest problem is really the governmental regulations. I’ve also learned that it’s actually hard to build the houses the way you want them to be built. On the job training is most common. Both of the people I interviewed say, unlike many books say, that cave men did not exist or build the first houses.
