Ashley L.

2002

Hi, my name is Ashley. At the time I conducted this project I was 11 years old and was in the fifth grade at Selah Intermediate School. Ever since I was treated by a plastic surgeon, I've had a strong interest in this topic. That is why I decided to take this opportunity to study all about plastic surgeons.

My Family
My family includes my mother Allison , my father Keith, my brother Derek, and my sister Adrienne. My mother is a stay at home mom. She is blonde and has blue eyes just like the rest of my family. She enjoys hooking, making bracelets, quilting, and driving the kids to all of their activities in her spare time. My dad is the boss of a large fruit processing company in Selah. He has dark brown hair and enjoys fishing and watching the Mariners. My brother, Derek is nine years old and enjoys Star Wars, K'nex, and building things with Legos in his spare time. My little sister,Adrienne is six years old. She is very sweet and has a darling personality. I also have a dog named Rocco. He is a Newfoundland, Golden Retriever, and Chow mix. We got him from the pound about one and a half years ago. His favorite hobby is chewing up Beanie Babies.

My Hobbies and Interests
A few of my hobbies and interests are reading, dancing, gymnastics, and collecting all kinds of things. I also like the outdoors and being with my family.

My Plans for the Future
I don't really know what my plans for the future are. I just know that I want to do something that uses the best of my abilities.

Dedications

I would like to dedicate my project to Elizabeth Marks, my great grandmother, because of the wonderful love and support she has strengthened my soul with.

Why I Chose This Topic

Ever since I was treated by a plastic surgeon, I've had a strong interest in this topic. That is why I decided to take this opportunity to study all about plastic surgeons.

How I Evaluate My Entire Project

1. How thorough and complete was my project?
It is my opinion that my project is absolutely thorough and complete.

2. What would I do differently if starting over again?
If I could start all over, again I would work alone instead of choosing to work with a partner. I feel that I am better able to work to the best of my ability when I work solitarily.

3. What major strengths does my project have?
I think one of the strengths my project has is the report. I believe that my report is very well written and thoroughly explains the profession of a plastic surgeon in every way that is required and more.

4. What weaknesses or problems does my project have?
One weakness that my project has is the lack of information that I was provided with to write the report. Because of the shortage of good and reliable resources in this field, there are only seven items in my bibliography.

5. What did I learn to do better during this project?
During this project, I learned to take better notes from all the experience I had from the long procedure of gathering and processing information for creating my report.

6. In what ways did I enjoy my study and work?
I enjoyed writing my report more than almost anything else that I did that was project related. I enjoyed writing my report because it was one of the parts of my project that I learned the most from.

I would like to thank the following people, My wonderful parents for their never ending love and support throughout my life, Mr. Newkirk for helping me so much with this recent accomplishment of mine, Dr. Aboulhosn for providing a very informational interview, and the four fifth grade classes including Mrs. Harris’ class, Mrs. Rice’s class, Mr. Eldred’s class, and Mr. Newkirk’s 5th grade SOAR class. I would also like to thank Mrs. Helms for supporting me throughout my entire time in SOAR.
