Krista G.

2001

Hi, my name is Krista. At the time I conducted this project I was eleven years old and was in the fifth grade at Selah Intermediate School.

My Family
I have a total of  six people in my family. I have a mom named Ronna, a dad named Aurelio, an older sister named Bethany, an older brother named Levi, and a twin sister named Sara. My mom is a substitute teacher, my dad is a computer instructer, my older sister is ending her year as an eighth grader, my brother is finishing his sixth grade year, and of course my twin sister is finishing her fifth grade year.

My Hobbies and Interests
My hobbies and Intrests are mainly cooking/ baking, and riding my bike. I enjoy the outdoors a lot, which means I also love to go camping out at Mt. Rainier camping sites. I also just like to hag out with my friends and have a good time. My favorite subject in school is writing. I love to write creative writing, because my imagination just runs away with me!

My Plans for the Future
A big plan for my life is graduating from Selah High School in 2008 and then go to collage for about two to three years. When I graduate I want to become a profesional  chef.

Dedication
I would like to dedicate my project to my mom and dad, because they ran a marathon and worked hard to finish.

Why I Chose This Topic
Ever since my parents started training for a marathon, I've had a strong interest in marathons.  That is why I decided to take this opportunity to study all about marathons.  I want to find the training cycle, the nutrients and what it is like to run it.

How I Evaluate My Entire Project

(1) How thorough and complete was my project?
I think I did a thorough job on my project. I took my time, enjoyed it, and I already had an idea of what my expectations were because I did a big project like this last year. I also think my project was completely done because I already had an idea of how I was going to do it and how I was going to complete it.

(2) What would I do differently if starting over again?
I would probably not pick such a broad subject to do a report on next time. Because when I worked on it I realized that I had so much stuff to cover that, I never even thought about doing when I chose this project.

(3) What major strengths does my project have?
The major strength of my project this year was getting a lot of information, and then having a long report. I had that as strength because I learned new, more, and better resources to use in my research and report.

(4) What weaknesses or problems does my project have?
One of the main weaknesses I had in this project was trying to fill my board. At first I couldn’t think of anything else to put on my board, when my board was half done. Then instead of asking my friends what they think, I thought for my self and came up with some great things for my display.

(5) What did I learn to do better during this project?
I learned to find better, and many recourses in the time of this project. I also learned different ways to stay on task better then when sometimes its hard to when people are around you and talking all at once.

(6) In what ways did I enjoy my study and work?
I enjoyed learning new things about marathons that I had never learned before. When I started this project, I only knew the main highlights of marathons because my parents ran one, and told me many things there is to know about them.

Who Helped Me with My Project
I would like to thank the following people. I would like to thank my Mom and Dad, Mr. Newkirk, Mrs. Pasckavale, and Beth They all helped me a lot!
